Swell City is CGW2.org’s premier SUPPORTERS ONLY Gorge launch-site for windsurfing, paddling & foiling. There is no safe kite-launch at Swell City. CGW2.org Annual Supporters can purchase their seasonal Swell City launch-pass here for $90. Please confirm your CGW2.org annual supporter donation status is active.
To redeem your Swell City launch pass, print your receipt or save to your mobile device. You can pick-up your Swell City Launch Pass at Windance Board Shop in Hood River. Please be prepared to present your ID and receipt to Windance Staff to redeem your Pass.
Display your valid Seasonal Swell City Launch Pass(es) inside the rear window of your vehicle while parked at Swell City, and where it can be easily viewed by our On-Site Host. If you are being dropped off to launch, be prepared to show your valid pass on your mobile device or on the vehicle dropping you off.
Please note that Seasonal Swell City Launch Passes are purchased, issued, and valid for each “individual” launching from Swell City with an active CGW2.org annual supporter account (Individual, Family, or Business) and are not issued “per vehicle.” You are purchasing and being issued a “launch” pass. Not a parking pass.
Those observed launching from Swell City without a valid Swell City Launch Pass may be asked to leave the premises.
Launch Pass revenues support the maintenance and other operating costs of Swell City.
Other than the single reserved parking slot for our On-Site Host, there is no reserved parking at Swell City, which is limited and granted on a first-come, first-served basis only. No double parking permitted.
Please limit use of the loading zone parking at the far west-end of the parking area for no longer than 10 minutes.
There is no running water at Swell and no trash collection, so please be prepared to pack-in & out your own. Porta-potties are on-site from roughly April thru October. Otherwise, there are no restroom facilities at Swell City, so consider doing your business before arriving.
While not prohibited, this site is not ideal for pets or children, and you are responsible for their safety.
Swell City on-stie hosts are there to help, but please remember, this is a relatively primitive, “experts only” launch-site. There are no lifeguards on duty, so launch, ride, and land at your own risk.
